Matt Reel is a seasoned bonsai professional with over eight years of training and study in Japan, honing a deep understanding of the art form under the guidance of renowned master, Shinji Suzuki.

With a passion for cultivating and nurturing bonsai, Matt now works with clients to care for their trees, offering expert consultations and hands-on care. In addition to individual tree work, Matt conducts workshops, study groups, and demonstrations at conventions, sharing knowledge and fostering a community of bonsai enthusiasts.

Matt's approach blends traditional techniques with contemporary innovations, helping students and clients achieve a deeper appreciation for this ancient living art.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys setting bonsai displays in the Tokonoma, his cats, and is an avid stone hound with a growing appreciation for Suiseki (viewing stones).
